Happy 1st Birthday!

I can't believe my little guy is one! The time has flown by. As I think back over the past year and all the things that he has accomplished, I am in awe. Rolling over, crawling, standing, climbing, walking, eating solids, sleeping at night, sleeping at night in his own bed, holding his own spoon and countless other things.

We celebrated R's birthday with family and close friends at a birthday party themed with penguins. It was a success except for the fact that I took a total of 4 pictures. Thankfully a few other people were snapping shots throughout the party and we'll get them posted as soon as we get them. R loved having other kids to play with or atleast watch. I made him an igloo cake to smash with a little family of penguins. He loved the cake and made a nice mess of it. He got a red coupe ride on car which he loves to ride around the house, with the assistance of his mom for now. We can't wait for the next year and all the new fun things too come!

Happy New Year! 2012

Wow! I can't believe it's already a new year. Where did all the time go? Things have changed a ton in the last year. I stopped working, started working and stopped working again. My DH finally got hired on and got a new truck that he pretty much lives in. And our little R, who is almost a year old, has learned to do just about everything including walking and just yesterday feeding himself with his own spoon. I was so excited and he was glad to take the spoon away from me.

With R's newly found sleeping schedule we couldn't make any firm New Year party plans so we decided to have a little fun at home. We ended up having a camp fire in the back yard. R loved helping gather sticks and more importantly eating them. He didn't make it to the actual fire because he was so tired. I think he was in bed by 6:15 last night and up about the same time this morning, Aaaagh! DH and I had a great time talking by the fire, which lasted a couple of hours. I think we might do it again and the best part is it didn't cost a thing.

It wouldn't be a new year without resolutions, yes I have many! So I hope to have many more posts this year that will keep everyone in the loop on how we are doing here. We wish you all a blessed New Year!

This was R's first halloween and I was more excited than him by far. He was a spider, I was the web and dh was Peter Parker/Spiderman (that is a good story). The weather finally got cold just in time for Halloween. Thankfully the snow didn't make it this far south, but we did get a lot of rain. Rather than trick or treat on Monday in the rain, we had cookies and hot chocolate with a few giraffes we came across which R loved. He is so social, he loves playing with other kids. And earlier in the weekend we came across a pumpkin patch with Charlie, Linus, Lucy and Snoopy waiting for "The Great Pumpkin." He never showed! But we had fun anyway!

Pumpkin Carving

It's Halloween week! This is R's first Halloween and he had to carve his first pumpkin or atleast taste a little of the insides while mom and dad carved it for him. He seemed to enjoy it, although I'm not sure it is good for him... Afterwards we had a pumpkin pasta dinner and apple pie for dessert

Vroom Vroom!!

Hey Guys! We took a trip to Charlotte to see the Nascar Hall of Fame and Dale Earnhardt Incorporated. We had so much fun that R slept for 9 whole hours that night. I don't know which one was more exciting!
